Movie: The Truman Show
Music: Katy Perry's One Of The Boys Album and some Grammy Awards stuff
Life: Just random stuff.
Now you don't have to read everything. Just whatever interests you! But I would appreciate it more if you read everything, reader! :P Or you can read one segment per day! I write multiple topics so everyone can relate. Oh, just do whatever you want! :P
Movie: The Truman Show (1998)
Jim Carrey stars in this one. I've seen him in many films in which he was awesome. The guy is totally underrated and deserves more Awards! Give him more awards, damn it! The Truman Show is something like Big Brother except he doesn't know. This movie came out just before the Reality Show business boomed. For some reason, the movie predicted the rise of reality TV and maybe influenced Reality Shows. Now we get a whole horde of them but only one or two are interesting lol! Now going back, this movie has a big heart and you should definitely watch it and see how Jim acts very natural. This movie will make you cry and think. I know it's an old movie but this is a movie you must watch before you die!
Rating: 8/10.
P.S., Rated PG-13, a movie that everyone in the family can watch.
Music. Katy Perry's One Of The Boys Album. She kissed a girl and she liked it, check! She allowed herself to be a laughing stock in front of the European Music Awards by plunging herself and slipping 2-3 times on purpose in a huge cake, check! Beautiful physical appearance, check! Absolutely hairless and white underarms? WHAT? Well, uhm, check? Hahaha! So she's a very promising star, maybe more promising than Rihanna but not as promising as Lady Gaga! I have her album like months ago, a week after I Kissed A Girl but this is the first time I actually listened to it! She's got some really great songs but there are times her songs suffer from the same alternative tune we've heard so many times before. Half of the songs in her album are worth listening to so if you're a fan of Pop Rock like Pink, Avril Lavigne, etc., you should definitely check her out!
Rating: 7/10
P.S., Totally fun pop rock music!
Some might say she's a poser. I say enough of the stereotypes! It's all about the music, the lyrics and the overall feel and soul of the song. For example, I don't dig the Jonas Brothers but I liked Lovebug because of the lyrics and the video. I don't dig Camp Rock but I loved Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato's This Is Me. Don't just stick to one or two genres and generalize an artist!
Grammy Awards. (Just some reactions.)
Record of the Year: Please Read This Letter. I haven't listened to it but let's go to the other contender, M.I.A. The girl deserves it! She splashed into the music scene with her album Kala which is Indian music fused with crazy stuff. If you have watched Slumdog Millionaire, you'll hear some of the songs there. Chasing Pavements by Adele is heavy competition and the performance with Sugarland was totally hair rising and outstanding but sadly, she lost against Robert Plant and Alison Krauss but she took home a couple of awards.
Song Of The Year: Viva La Vida by Coldplay. Enough said, this song is pure genius! Everything is perfect about the song. The only contender I was rooting for is American Boy by Estelle ft. Kanye West.
Best Dance Recording: Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Not a fan of Daft Punk but I was pleased with the song. It would have been better if Lady Gaga's Just Dance took home the award, though! No, I don't think I'm not so biased!
Best Rap Album: Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III. I really love Lil Wayne and perhaps my most favorite track on his album is Dr. Carter! It's just really brilliant stuff. But then there's American Gangster by Jay-Z and Lupe Fiasco's The Cool which are both awesome. Jay-Z's album American Gangster is inspired by the same name which Ridley Scott directed and Denzel Washington stars in. It's about a drug lord named Frank Lucas. Anyway, the movie is about 3 hours long so check it out if you have time! I rate the movie a 10 out of 10, by the way.
Best Rap Performance by A Duo or Group: Swagger Like Us by T.I., Lil Wayne, Kanye West and M.I.A. This song is by far the best rap song I've ever heard and I'm not over exaggerating! PLEASE, please, check this song out!
There are so many awards and I'm too lazy to type them all and tell what I think lol! So this should suffice for now!
Life:
- I can't wait for this week to be over. All I want right now is to rest! There are so many things I wanna do. Like read a book I just picked up, Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern, watch a new movie, I'll pick between Zack And Miri Make A Porno and Trainspotting, I need a dose of 30 Rock, I need to hang out with High School Friends this upcoming Valentine's, actually get to sleep like 8 hours a day, nap included. This is how I relax but with school getting in the way, all I wanna do is to rest, rest, rest!
- I forgot to check if my application for shifting to Psychology was approved.
- This is a great day, I picked up plenty of courage in one class because I made some new friends, listened attentively to a panel discussion about the Executive Department and just talked and talked with people around me when someone was reporting about Charlemagne the Great lol.
- I tasted a new sort of Pizza. Milano from Pizza Hut.
- I passed a Valentine's Card to my Professor. A Valentine's Card for the country.
- I feel dehydrated these past few days.
- I finished reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. A pretty good fiction book fused with the author's philosophical views. Rating: 7/10.
- I want to go somewhere quiet. There are times like this that I find the city very chaotic and I can't concentrate!
- What is your favorite cereal? Mine's Koko Krunch and Corn Flakes.
- I'll sleep after writing this.
Something to check out:
Much Love,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. you've got a nice blog here and it seems you've just started. Am I right?
Keep doing your stuff. Your blog is a good read
Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yours is very entertaining too! I love showbiz and it looks like you do as well. I'll enjoy checking in on your writings! Michael
@Afronuts - Yeah, I'm amazed at the fact of being lazy and writing a lot too LOL. I'm just too random, I guess! Yeah, I have just started and I'm actually serious with this blogging thing even if my posts are not THAT serious LOL.
@Michael Rivers - Whoa, thank you for adding me to blogs that you follow! Yes yes yes, I love the entertainment industry! Hope to see you around here more often!
I adore the Truman Show. Have you seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? Jim Carrey's an amazing actor. I don't like his comedy so much these days, but his straight acting is incredible.
Alright. :)
Yay! so you watched the Grammy too? lol that's the first time I heard that song it was performed with JC the grammy and even though I'm not a big fan of hiphop songs, I still liked it so I agree with you about that.
I'll take your word about "The Truman Show" so I'll DL it as soon as I can
Wow I love your blog! I know you just recently started, so be sure and keep adding content! Love your take on the Grammys and the fact that you like Lady GaGa, well that alone is enough to keep me coming back! Keep up the good work!
Oh lol lemme correct myself, it's "Jay Z" not JC XD
@Anna - Yes, I've seen it and it's one of the best films I've ever watched! And he's paired with Kate Winslet. That's just awesome combination as Kate herself is a really great actress.
@menatsu - Peste. =)) Mag comment ka naman. Bastos. =')) Mahiya ka! ='))
@TwistedSolace - What song are you talking about? Paper Planes or Swagger Like Us? Well, both songs are fantastic anyway, lol! Yes, you have to watch it, Marze! You love Jim too dahil sa Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, right? Teehee. ='))
@John - HELLO there, Sir! Oh yes of course, I'll keep adding content as I get pleasure from blogging and receiving comments from users like you! All hail Lady Gaga LOL!
Comment. :)
Peste. Manlibre ka nalang sa Sunday. May palm card ka diba? I want the Milano Pizza from Pizza Hut. ='))
I have no palm card and I'm not going. I can't. :)
First off, thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your great comments and - no, you don't "talk too much!"
Second, I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan as he tends to drive me nuts with his over-the-top style of comedy but I have to say that I really liked him in "The Truman Show" and that you're right, it was a great movie. Very sad in places but a great movie! The other movie that he did that I really liked was "The Majestic"; if you haven't seen that one then do check it out sometime.
Good Grammy reviews, I didn't watch the show as my dispatch partner had hold of the TV remote and we were stuck on ABC for the night!
@Linda - Thanks for dropping by and returning the favor lol! I'm now downloading The Majestic (lol!) and might be finished later. Maybe I can watch it tomorrow or later! That sucks having to be stuck on ABC! There were some great performances! :P
I saw The Truman Show a long time ago, but I didn't really like it. It was a different movie than most Jim Carrey films but it did show that he is a good actor and can do more than just comedy.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
@Rebecca - So it seems like I'm the only one who likes it? LOL. Scrolling above, people say they don't dig it much but still say Jim Carrey is talented indeed lol! Thanks for visiting my blog too. Hope you return again some other time!
Truman show is awesome! Ive seen that movie 2 billion times. But his best has to be Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. If you havent seen that, do so immediately.
thanks for visiting my blog, dear. i am now a loyal follower!
@Antonio - LOL! I love the Truman Show so I'll try topping your 2 billion record. Ha! :P Yes, I've seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. One of the best movies I've ever watched! Sooo not the 'usual' and cliche movie.
Thanks for being a follower! :P And I have also added your blog in my blog roll! Let me appreciate your art! :)
i really adhor Truman Show.....yout art coll is fine.. and slumdog one is good...
@motts - I adore both films! My previous post is about Slumdog Millionaire. :)
Great blog! Thanks for posting a comment on mine! I love Katy Perry! Hope you get some rest and enjoy Valentine's Day with your friends!
Oh, and keep playing the lottery! Believe you already won it and you are already helping those in need and you will win it! :-)
@Carrie - Thanks for appreciating my blog! I appreciate your being helpful too and spreading the love. (I wonder how many times I said the word 'love' today.) And enjoy your Valentine's Day with your husband! Thanks for the lottery encouragement thing! :P
Hey girl, you sure are busy! Thanks so much for following my blog. You're the first, WooHoo! So did you watch Zack & Miri makes a Porno? Looks so funny! Trainspotting is good, but to many gross scenes! Hope you have a great weekend, and as you say, "much Love!" (right back at 'ya).
Hi John! Yeah, of course I'm busy! I'm really gonna make this place busy. I have experience from blogging before with a lot of people commenting and stuff. So if I did it before, I can always do it again LOL. I didn't watch any movie ever since I wrote this blog lol. I just don't have the time for it. I rest more often! For some reason, I like gross scenes even if they offend me most of the time. Funny how the mind works!
BTW, it's an honor that I'm your first follower! :)
Hey Crazy, thanks for stopping by my blog. My you are random, aren't you? But I like randomness, you don't get bored that way.
@Katy Perry, my 13 y/o daughter and I go around the house singing 'I kissed a girl' just to gross my husband out, ha.
I'll be back!
@kden - Hahaha, I say randomness spices up life! I have a lot of random friends in my life so it's never boring. And wow, my Mom goes "Eew!" too when she hears my brother and I sing it. You're one wacky 50 something Mom, then! :P
Mag-update ka naman!
Well, I never saw the Truman show. It does give you somethings to think about. Is my life real or an illusion? Do I do things by choice or is it planned out for me?
Watch the Matrix...
@Menatsu - Oo wait lang diba! I'm suffering from a heart attack. =')) Pero seriously, ang sakit kasi sa kung san ako inoperahan banda. =)) Hey congrats for being a full pledged woman again! ='))
@videogameplayer - You're right, maybe it's a little of both. Choice and planned. But I think it leans more on Choice? Dunno! :P For some reason, whenever I watch Matrix films, I get kinda bored. It's just that I don't dig sci-fi films much!
