Something extremely useful and the doppler effect.

Recently, I've been searching for places to go to and things to do when I finally get to be at Baguio by the end of this month. It's looking good so far for my itinerary and budget. Google Blog Search has been extremely helpful. Blogs are more helpful because the prices are out in the open and pictures are shared by the writers. You can even refine the search by choosing publishing dates, if you are looking for more accurate information.

A panoramic shot of the pool

Blurred shot of Antipolo Skyline. I can't get a good shot. Haha

I got back from the Antipolo trip last Sunday night. I had an awesome time with my best-est friends, as well as their best friends. One breathtaking thing about Antipolo besides the cold climate that will surely take your breath away, is the breathtaking overlooking view of the city skylines from certain standpoints in Antipolo.

Want to go that Restaurant but not quite sure of the budget? Want to explore a new dining place? Want to share your favorite restaurants or drop bombs on restaurants that suck? Live in Metro Manila? Well you better head on over to MunchPunch if you said yes to all of the above!

I review restaurants in there, I go by the name of ASoprano.

Smart is indeed sexy.

I finished watching Community Season 1 a few days ago. While the series is not a barrel of laughs, it has good writing. So overall, it's worth it, so go download and watch! They've been renewed for a third season.

I recently started on The Big Bang Theory. I do understand the scientific jargon going on but like Penny, maybe someday I can get the hang of listening to the other guys talk about subatomic particles, molecular positronium, the doppler effect, and well, a lot of other big words. It's an okay show for me, I chuckle here and there.

Use the Holy Week to reflect and spend time with your loved ones!

Sort of a quick post.

I haven't posted anything for a while cos I've been REAL busy. Not exactly busy on school stuff but other things. It's a good Sunday morning, and I'll spend it on reviewing for exams blahblah, anything to lessen my backlog.

Being in College is pretty crazy! You got school, social life, and personal thingies to deal with.. and I LOVE it! There's little room for relaxing and sleeping but all the fun and experience is worth it.

Good Life, I am coming!

A few days ago, I started watching Friends. I know, the TV Show started in 1994 and it's already 2010 but I'm not gonna let my ignorance be extended to 2011 - I'm gonna finish the show's 10 seasons before this year ends.

I'm on the 5th episode so far and I'm liking it. I have always liked Lisa Kudrow and her dumb but funny roles and Jennifer Aniston's sweet, endearing image. She's always gonna be America's Sweetheart. How I Met Your Mother and other shows followed after this show's footsteps. That one apartment setting, one bar they frequent, big city setting, and the stories that make each character be loved by the audience.

Thank you Cable Internet, I can download anything!

Went out with a couple of friends I haven't seen for a long time. We ate at Lamesa Grill, somewhere in San Miguel by The Bay. Food was pretty good, nothing special. It was totally affordable and the ambiance is really nice. There's a live band performing just outside the Grill.

Chicken Sisig. Tasted okay.

Seafood Platter. With shrimp, squid and clams.

Always wanting more.

I've been busy.

I swear I don't know where time has gone by. The past few weeks, after the end of each week, I'm like "What the *bleep!* just happened?" after every 'realization', I look at my wallet and see some bills and coins and new clothes. I've been getting too much money and I've been quick to spend it. I feel like I'm rushing through every day without realizing I was.

It has been fun but I don't feel contented. I'm like this now, I always want more than what I already have. Of course I'm not gonna feel 'contented' at this point in my life unless I get the things I want.

A few days ago, my friend and I had to hit the mall due to boredom and cravings for something salty AND sweet. That's right, we could be weird sometimes. First off, we went to satisfy our cravings for salty food by eating Italian dishes at a fast food chain. Next up, for something sweet so we stopped by Cerealicious.

My friend's 'The Hurt Loacker' (Loacker, Milo Balls, and M&Ms) topped with a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream.
Mine: 'Cashewblanca' (Cashew, Brownies, Frosties) topped with Nestle Crunch. *All thanks to my Canon IXUS 80 IS and my awesome manual setting, food has never looked so good!

Cerealicious, though been around for a few years, is still starting to open up branches around Metro Manila. Each item from the menu are inspired by movies: Pirates of the Cadburryean, Oreo and Juliet, The Skittle Mermaid, and more! You can even make your own cereal: add cereals, chocolates, nuts, and more.

It's the new thing so look for a Cerealicious near you! Prices range from P50-P150.

They should be paying me for this.

Jinx and Drinks.

In a few months, if things go really well, I can fly to the US for an on-the-job-training and stay there for a year, and maybe meet up with friends and family living there. The thought of leaving my life in here for a year scares me but then flying out of here excites me too. Also, when I get back, I'm excited to know and see the changes that took place when I was out - not to mention changes that happened to me.

When I get back, I wanna go to med school and pursue that plan of contributing something awesome to the world.

I know I shouldn't get ahead of myself. Most of the time, things don't really turn out the way you planned them to be, but something else. Just talking about these things, I feel like I'm jinxing my plans. Here's a quote that I really liked:

"You can't design your life like a building, it doesn't work that way. You just have to live it and it will design itself. It's not that you shouldn't do anything - listen to what the world is telling you and take the leap."
- How I Met Your Mother

It's good to have plans to guide you but I'm just saying there are a lot of decisions and circumstances in life that would not make your plans happen or not. I might contribute to the world but not become a Doctor but someone and something else. I might end up living in the US or I'm just gonna be stuck here.

What they are, I'll know, just not now.

For Pinoys looking for a good bar..

Nowadays, I frequent this one bar: Central. Which branch, preferably Makati. But I have also been to Central BF Homes Paranaque, Central Angelo King, Central Adriatico, and I want to visit the others!

What's great about Central is everything is certainly of the highest quality, may it be food or drinks. Don't forget to try their "Bad" drinks: Bad Trip, Bad Boy and Bad Girl (Ranging from P180-P190). Also their Squeeze Me and. Also their nachos and Cheesy Potato (Around P150). And uhm, 2+1 Thursdays (Order 2, get 1 free!) and.. that's it. You can also order take out, just add P20!

Nachos.
Squeeze Me.

Something about hopes of huge success and Quesadillas.

At my age and in my current situation in life, I equate money with happiness, on a very significant relationship. I am 19, for others I may be young but I feel old. I feel like I haven't done much cos I don't have enough money to do things I like. And I want to do a lot of things, especially traveling and doing something new. I eat 3-5 times a day, finishing College, getting and doing things I want but I feel like it's not enough.

I know I should be contented with what I have but I am not. I can be pretty ambitious. I can't just stay put in one place and do the same things over and over again but it is exactly what I'm doing right now. Probably cos I'm tied down with school stuff and having not enough money to support the life I want. Maybe it's only a matter time before things really change, I know I shouldn't be rushing to get there.

I want constant excitement. A change of scene.

A few weeks ago, I dined in at Holy Cow wherein they serve expensive steaks, ribs, quesadillas, and other grilled meat stuff - what you would expect from a Restaurant sporting a Wild Wild West theme. No, I'm not going to show you guys every dish I had whenever I come there. I'll show you the star of each visit. Their Quesadillas.

Their Quesadillas are so yummy it's a sin not to try them out. Costs around P250 (Roughly around $6). A little pricey, yeah, but it's worth trying it out. This thing packs lots of calories too. I got your mouth watering, didn't I? Exactly my plan.

Tagaytay Chronicles 4

Like I said in my previous post, this is the last installment of the Tagaytay Chronicles. Maybe the next time you happen to stop by the Philippines, Tagaytay would be at the top of your 'places to visit', eh? Cos I've been posting about it for a week now! This is what I like blogging, I can promote my country's Tourism!

When Tagaytay is mentioned, Picnic Grove comes next into mind. The Picnic Grove is a very popular place for all ages. They have horseback riding (I think their horses don't really run! A little bit of walking only!), a fine view of Taal Lake and Volcano, Cable Car, Cottages, and Zip line. Unfortunately, it seems like they are not taking good care of the place. The grass used to be green.

We walked around for a bit and decided to try Zip lining. This isn't the first time I've tried it, I love being on air! Too bad, we don't have a picture of it as the camera needs to be put away before crossing the line. It was fun cos I get to cross the line in a moderate speed and see the fog below, I was up in the air for about hundreds of feet!

I wanted to try it again but the people operating the Zip Line activity are over pricing. So before you go Zip lining, ask around first and haggle.

At night, we decided to go back to One Destination (a spot which boasts a number of Restaurants boasting a view of the Taal) again. We went to Mile Hi, they sport a vintage aura and American Food. Food was mediocre. The whole time we were there, Motown is usually played, along with a couple of older and popular songs. I love it! Pictures are a bit blurry.

Marilyn Monroe is like the prominent Hollywood Star figure in here. There's also James Dean, Charlie Chaplin, and Humphrey Bogart.

We then went to sleep after eating. The next morning, our last day at Tagaytay, we went to the popular Bag of Beans for Breakfast.

Upon entering Bag of Beans, you descent here.

They have birds in cages and a parrot greeting everyone "Ugly!" I thought it was not very funny so I poked his cage hard a few times so he learns his lesson. LOL.
This is where we had Breakfast!I ordered this. I love the sausages and the Cheese Omelet!

End of story. Hope you guys enjoyed. Me, I'm tired, I think I'm going to bed in a bit, classes just started.

Tagaytay Chronicles 3

On my previous post, I sort of complained about Tagaytay's non-existent nightlife. Now, it's the second day of our Tagaytay Trip (As some of you might know, we stayed in tagaytay for 3 days and 2 nights!

The next day, we went to Giligan's Island Restaurant and Bar in Summit Ridge for Lunch. Or maybe for err, pigging out.

The Chicken skin tastes amazing and the insides.. well, they taste like all the other chickens, haha! But I still recommend this dish!
Yum! Roast Beef with Mushrooms and Mashed Potatoes! The sauce tastes really great and I can't say no to anything potatoes. It doesn't taste too special but it's not bad either. Food for only two people. We only managed to eat half of the chicken and Roast Beef, and left a quarter of rice. What a waste ordering a lot and not finishing it! Everything is worth it for the price (Like P600-P700)!

After that, we went to shop for souvenirs. We visited La Trobada in Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. Not only is La Trobada a souvenir shop but it's a Restaurant too and has their own specialty of Paella. Its ambiance is very homey, antique, and boasts a fine view of the Taal Lake and Volcano.

Another view from La Trobada.
Too bad we ate already else we would have tried it here! Nice place, don't you think?

A word of advice though, don't shop for souvenirs in La Trobada as they are a little bit more costly. Try the stalls at Picnic Grove or in Olivarez Plaza. You get the same quality but for a lower price.

Up next is Picnic Grove and more food! The next post would be the final installment of the Tagaytay Chronicles then it's back to the boring updates on my life.

Tagaytay Chronicles 2

If you look at my previous post, I told you guys a bit about how to get to Tagaytay, about the place that we stayed in, and showed you guys the breathtaking view of the Taal Volcano. When you get a chance to visit the Philippines, make sure to stop by Tagaytay, Cavite. Not much pollution, unlike here in Manila!

So getting on with the program, after "Ooh-ing!" and "Ahh-ing!" over the marvelous landscape, we heard our stomach growling so we decided to look for a place to eat.

We chose Carlo's Pizza as it offers a great view of the scenery and is much acclaimed by travelers. I'm glad we ate here cos their menu is affordable and their food very delicious.

Milano Pizza, perfect for 2 people. We only managed to eat 5. The remaining slices we asked to take out.

Boyfriend ordered this. I was like, "We already ordered Milano Pizza, why do you want a dish that still has Pizza in it?" He replied he just wanted lots of Pizzas. In the end we didn't finish the 9" pizza we ordered anyway!

I ordered Spaghetti with Chicken Fingers and Garlic Bread. Everything tasted amazing, I'm really craving for it right now.

After eating, we're all set to try out Tagaytay's nightlife. We talked about going to View Site (a place with a live band and Videoke and also offers a nice view of Taal) or some bar and get a little bit tipsy. It was only about 5PM so we decided to roam a little more around. It's nice to walk around Tagaytay as pollution is pretty much non-existent.

Beautiful houses are abundant in Tagaytay, especially those in the Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. The owners are probably from Metro Manila as the place looks so empty! Of course we can't get in so I took a couple of shots from outside LOL. Sorry for those obstacles, can't be helped!

So while walking some more, we ended up on Summit Ridge. There's a nice hotel beside it and a couple of Restaurants inside. We decided to hang around for a bit and buy some souvenirs.

On the way home, we saw this beautiful Sunset.

We went back to the Apartelle, watched Black Dynamite which was damn funny and waited for the clock to strike 10PM. By 10PM, we got out, looked for View Site but it was closed. We then went back to One Destination (place with lots of Restaurants) and Olivarez (like their 'capital'), to see if some bars are open.

Much to our dismay, Tagaytay's nightlife, if you can call it that, is only until 11PM. Where are all the party people in Tagaytay! That's probably the only thing missing from this place. But somehow, it's kind of good. They're aiming for Tourism more, I guess.

And oh, there are very few Jeepneys that can take you from one place to another when the clock hits 10PM. It's like there's a curfew and everyone should be home immediately! I feel very safe in Tagaytay, though.

So we just went home and saved the party spirit when we get back to Manila.

HalfCrazy
